Coach pitch Baseball

Charles has started playing the all American favorite pass-time game of Baseball. We signed him up for it right before Aaron lost his job so the fees were already paid for. He loves the fact that he is on the same team as so many of his friends from school and church. I think out of all of the kids on his team there are maybe half that he knows. Its awesome.

The games are a great intorduction for the kids into the sport and its rules. Each team gets to go through their line up and have everyone bat until they hit the ball and get to run the bases. The first game was pretty rough for most of the kids on the team. they are all mostly like charles where this is the first real exposure that they have had to baseball. It is great to see how far they have come in just 3 games.
Once Charles got the idea that he needed to drop the bat and run after he hit the ball he really enjoyed himself. Watching all these kids just have a ball is so great. They get to see their friends and cheer them on too.
Charles was ready and wating inthe outfield to catch whatever ball might come his way...
As the kids were waiting to bat, they were picking grass and putting it in their hats for "good luck" too funny!!!
A classic Coltrin moment... caught in a picture picking a seat :) I couldn't resist putting this one in...
Coaches pitch will be short lived but what a fun time for Charles to have. Hopefully next year we can put his sisters on a team. We will see.

That is so cool! I habe ben wanting to put Elena on a team. (Jim of course is a huge fan of the game and his job is in the business.) He can tell you all about the superstitions and silly things baseball players to for good luck. I am sorry to hear about Aaron losing his job. Hope things are okay!
