Its a Baking Extravaganza!

One of the funnest traditions in my family is , We bake a bunch of treats and Give them to our neighbors and Friends. This year is no exception. I started out with bread but today it blossomed into Gingerbread men. The snow was falling outside and so it was a perfect day to stay inside where it was nice and warm. Not to mention dry. After our normal Saturday morning chores, We got out the mixer and set to work. We made the dough and then got the cookie cutters .... And in the end had over 60 cookies to decorate to our hearts content!
Charles had had enough decorating cookies about half way through the process. Luckily for me Kyah and Chelsea are little Chefs, Because They just whipped out the rest of the cookies in like 20 minutes . And they were done very cute, if you ask me.
It was a good fun project that we all could do as a family and spend time together, laughing and getting frosting ALL over the place. I put some of the frosting in bags to help give it better shape as we decorated and I think that was Kyah and Chelsea's favorite thing to do. They kept asking for the bags and suffice to say, the cookies that they frosted will only have a HINT of ginger taste to them :)
I love this time of year! Especially now that the kids are officially on Christmas break. We get to sleep in, and have big breakfasts together. But the best part is that we get to just have fun!
