We had Chelsea's party on June 30th because we left on the first ( and she will be gone for 3 weeks) I got a little creative( I blame it all on Cake boss and Ace of cakes) with her birthday cake. I asked her what she would like and she told me she wanted a Hannah Montana Purple guitar cake. So I downloaded a pattern for on, found a recipe for fondant and modeling chocolate, and then over about 2 1/2 days made her cake. The fondant was suppose to just roll out and be easy to place on the cake. but mine didn't. After much frustration and pounding on the counter I decided to just piece it onto the cake and smooth it out with a kitchen utensil. When I finished I was not happy( mostly because it didn't come out like I had it in my mind) But everyone else said that for a first attempt it was not bad. Now looking at it in Hindsight I agree. for a first it isn't bad at all. Everything on the cake was edible except for 9 tiny toothpick. and I have to say that the cake was delish!
I am seriously thinking about taking a cake decorating class when our cash flow improves... if it ever improves :) ( it doesn't help when our vehicle brakes down!) But all in all I was happy with my first attempt!

What do you do when you want to spend quality time with some of the people in your village?  You plan Murder Mystery night of course!  I count Aaron and I very blessed and humbled that we have more village than what we played the game with that night, and I plan to host a couple more murder mysteries to enjoy all ofy village in the near future.  Tonight, we were set in a Manor. I was the wealthy Anthony Westgrove, that is dying of cancer and wanted to gather my family to say goodbye and to let them know I was turning the company over to my illegitimate son Richard, who was the only one that knew I planned to commit suicide after the gathering. We had a Lavish dinner planned of Flat Iron Steak, Marnie's Augrautin potatoes, Jenn's Rolls, Shannon Brock virgin Movktails and I topped it all off with Creme Brulee for dessert. The game company that I got this mystery night from was not as well thought out as How to Host a Murders for sure! The books were inconsistent...

Eight Already? Kyah turned 8 on January 5th. I am have the hardest time adjusting to this fact because I just can't be old enough to have an 8 year . Everyday She seems to grow and mature. I am grateful to have her as my oldest. Since she is Eight , here is a list of 8 things that I LOVE about her. 1. She has the Kindest heart, She truly and genuinely loves everyone she meets. 2.She is willing to help me with what ever task I am working on without complaint. 3.She is a good big sister. 4.She makes sure that everything is fair... or at least as fair as it can be. 5. She works very hard at her school work. Never giving up until its done. 6. Her testimony makes me so proud as a mother( as I am sure it makes Heavenly father proud too) 7. 2017- starts off with a bang

We had a New Years Eve  party with some of our close friends! We enjoyed a night of food, fun and entertainment. I wanted to do some minute to win it games to break up just the chit-chat and board games that we play so often when we get together. We played a game where we had to stack dice on a tongue depressor, and a really fun game where we had to carry potatoes between our legs across the room and drop them into a bucket. we got the adults and kids involved. It was such a fun night! As I prepare for the coming year, I hope that We have many, many more nights just like this one!!!
