Charles first soccer game...
On Wednesday April 14th Charles had his first soccer game. It was awesome, they didn't win (personally if you ask me the other team was really INTENSE!) but they had a ton of fun. All of his games are at the park just up the street from Shannon's house so thankfully I didn't have to figure out where a park was :) Charles had a ton of fun. He really didn't know what to do with the ball though. When he got it he knew to kick it down the field but when someone from the other team would get in front of him he would stop running, it was cute confusion :). We are now 3 games into the season and he is getting better and better with every game. For his birthday My parents got him soccer goal post so that he can practice at home, He doesn't know it yet though because we are waiting for them to come in the mail :) Boy won't he be surprised when they get here. I am loving being a soccer mom! To get to go and cheer on Charles just fills me with JOY!
Charles was very lucky and was able to get on a team with many of his school Chums and also some new friends as well. It is so much fun to watch these little kids try to get the basics of soccer down. Some of them want to use their hands so bad, and they get confused because they can use their hands when they are the goalie.
Yesterday Charles got to be the goalie, now Aaron was there and he used to play soccer when he was young. His favorite position was goalie, so he was over exuberant in his cheering instructions for Charles :) in the end the Thunderbirds( that's the name of his team) won the game 4-3. It was a cold game but I am very glad that it didn't rain!
Did I mention that I love being a soccer mom?!
