A HOUSE THAT IS OURS! FINALLY!!!
I got the best present for Christmas this last year. When I was making my list for aaron I was being fecicius and put a house on it . Aaron called Bank of Utah and got us pre-qualified for a house without me knowing about it. Oh course though, he couldn't hold it im (mostly because he couldn't pick a house without me) and told me a couple of days later. We met with our realtor Lisa Thompson (which, whom I would recommend to ANYONE that is buying property because she ROCKS!) And made a rigorous list of houses to go see. We looked all over the valley, I have no idea what the final count was that we looked at but I wouldn't be suprised if it was around 30. There were a few contenders and by the end of the 2nd day I was exausted. The houses were starting to look the same to me. That night as Aaron and I were talking about the houses we had seen. I was looking online and found one in smithfield that I wanted to go look at. He wasn't convinced because he didn't like the pictures online. We did a drive by the next day and by that night had a time set up to go and see the inside. Kyla amd Melissa Went with us and from the moment that we walked in the house I fell in love. Every new room added to my love. We had one other house to look at but when we got there Aaron and I let Lisa know that we were interested in putting an offer on the house we just saw. The house felt like home to both Aaron and I. We knew that this was our house. The offer was accepted quickly and even though we weren't in by Christmas , we were in by the 11th of January.
My Mom came for Christmas and stayed to help me pack the house, which I was so very grateful for because I am working full time and just didn't think I could have gotten it done as quickly or efficiently as she did. I love the system she uses. All my sisters and I have learned from it and use it whenever we move. We know exactly what is in which box. It is an amazing system.
So we signed the papers on January 8th and moved in on that Saturday the 11th. We had so much help. Our Crockett ward sent many helpers that get the truck loaded with all of our things in just over an hour. Then the unloading was quick too. We had arranged for the new ward in Smithfield to help but, it went so fast that there was nothing left by the arranged time.
Our new neighbors came and helped as well and Aaron invited them to dinner. We fit 30ish people in the house that night, like the blink of an eye. What a difference from our little rental on the island.
Such a wonderful Christmas gift. I am so grateful that Aaron cares enough to try the unthinkable sometimes!
