Nevada





While the Kids were in Nevada Charles got the awesome opportunity to go to scout camp. Both Charlie and Marti are in the scouting program and so he was able to go and spend 3 days with other boys his age and learn the essentials of being a good scout. He had tons of fun. Marti sent me a picture and I thought I was looking at Davy Crockett not my son :) He made the pouch around his neck and the Raccoon hat on his head, he told me, is real. Unfortunately the hat didn't survive long in the house of our rampaging puppy that chews on everything!!! But the memories that Charles has will last a lifetime.


  
Grandma Marti bought a pool that all of the grandkids could play in and have fun in the hot summer days. this is just one of the many afternoons that they spent out in the sun :)




Kyah and Chelsea got to go and spend some special time with a good family friend, Maria and they made a blanket for their new baby cousin, Benson :) They picked out what each square would have and what they would say. they chose the fabric colors and at first Maria wasn't too sure if they were going to work but the finished product was pretty stinkin' awesome if I do say so myself!!!!

Aaron and I let the kiddos stay with the Fam in Nevada for the whole month of June but I think that we won't do it for that long again. We missed them so much. By the time we got them back it felt like a LOT LONGER than just a month. I am glad that they got to spend time with their cousins aunts, uncles and Grandparents though. We just don't get to see them as often as we wish we could.

They did get to do a lot, but I think they were ready to be back at home after a week or two.

What do you do when you want to spend quality time with some of the people in your village?  You plan Murder Mystery night of course!  I count Aaron and I very blessed and humbled that we have more village than what we played the game with that night, and I plan to host a couple more murder mysteries to enjoy all ofy village in the near future.  Tonight, we were set in a Manor. I was the wealthy Anthony Westgrove, that is dying of cancer and wanted to gather my family to say goodbye and to let them know I was turning the company over to my illegitimate son Richard, who was the only one that knew I planned to commit suicide after the gathering. We had a Lavish dinner planned of Flat Iron Steak, Marnie's Augrautin potatoes, Jenn's Rolls, Shannon Brock virgin Movktails and I topped it all off with Creme Brulee for dessert. The game company that I got this mystery night from was not as well thought out as How to Host a Murders for sure! The books were inconsistent...

Eight Already? Kyah turned 8 on January 5th. I am have the hardest time adjusting to this fact because I just can't be old enough to have an 8 year . Everyday She seems to grow and mature. I am grateful to have her as my oldest. Since she is Eight , here is a list of 8 things that I LOVE about her. 1. She has the Kindest heart, She truly and genuinely loves everyone she meets. 2.She is willing to help me with what ever task I am working on without complaint. 3.She is a good big sister. 4.She makes sure that everything is fair... or at least as fair as it can be. 5. She works very hard at her school work. Never giving up until its done. 6. Her testimony makes me so proud as a mother( as I am sure it makes Heavenly father proud too) 7. 2017- starts off with a bang

We had a New Years Eve  party with some of our close friends! We enjoyed a night of food, fun and entertainment. I wanted to do some minute to win it games to break up just the chit-chat and board games that we play so often when we get together. We played a game where we had to stack dice on a tongue depressor, and a really fun game where we had to carry potatoes between our legs across the room and drop them into a bucket. we got the adults and kids involved. It was such a fun night! As I prepare for the coming year, I hope that We have many, many more nights just like this one!!!
