In February Charles got to participate in his first ever Pinewood derby. He was so excited. He had his cousin Logan help him a little with the design and then Aaron helped him a little with cutting the wood, but Charles did the rest. He decided that he wanted to have a "Flag" car. So he made it red white and blue.I was so proud of him. It was pretty fun to watch him paint his car. He must have put on like 5 different coats, we were worried for a second that he put too much paint on and threw off the weight f the car. But no worries. he was perfect :)
The night of the derby he was like a kid in a candy store. He was so anxious to go that he couldn't sit still for more than 5 seconds. When we finally got there and got his car all weighed in he was ogling at the other cars that the boys in his Troop had built, There were some pretty cool ones :)

After his car was weighed in he disappeared and spent the rest of the evening hanging out with his fellow chums watching as their cars ran down the race track. It was a really fun night. I Am so grateful that Charles is in the Scouting program! What better way to learn some of lifes most important skills? We are definitely looking forward to nest years rematch, he already has about a hundred different ideas running through his head of what he wants his next car to look like. It will be awesome

Way to go Charles! Pinewood Derbies are so fun. And the car looks like the coolest. :)
