WE ARE OKAY! On Saturday one of the canals that run through Logan gave way due to a landslide. Many homes in our neighborhood were affected , but thankfully not ours. Aaron spenmt the afternoon helping a ward member to clear her carport area and basement. It was a stressful situation to go through with my children because they are dramatic( that is a major understatment in this case) We were on a biike ride to the park when a car pulled up next to us and told us that they were evacuating the Island due to the landslide. So Kalinda ( my sister) her kid and me and my kids all turned around and headed home. The whole way home Chelsea cried because she thought that she was going to die( I think that next time I need to be more calm, because I may or may not have caused that pandamonium that insued at my home. Sorry Kalinda) At any rate . We all loaded up in Kalindas mini-van. ( i may need one in the future! We even took Paco with us.) and headed up to Shannon's new house. They were very lucky because they had just moved out of their house that morning and had taken the last load just before the landslide hit. Aaron Larry and My father all helped with the cleanup. On Sunday a special sacrament session was held and our ward was asked to gather 40 volunteers. There were 40+. It was wonderful to see our community in action . I am grateful to know that if there was ever a disaster I could count on my neighbors to help me recover. Aaron was such a trooper. He is on nights right now and he worked all Day Saturday without sleep and then went to work . Then on Sunday he slept for about 5 hours and then got up again to go and help with the damage. Sunday afternoon My mom, Kalinda and I made cookies to take to the command center to be handed out to the workers. All in all it has been an Eye opening and wonderful experience of how a community can come together and help. My prayers go out to the families who have been affected by this and hope that the lord will bless them in their time of need.

I love the drama of your kids! so cute!
I'm so glad that you weren't affected by the flood. The bishopric has been telling the ward to prepare for a flood from before I moved in. It shows that if you listen to priesthood counsel you will be protected and that the church members are always here for us!
